Angiology
Angiology is a branch of internal medicine that focuses on function and diseases of the arteries, the veins, the smallest blood vessels (capillaries) and the lymphatic system. Main areas of angiology are degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the limb vessels (e.g. peripheral arterial disease, venous thrombosis, varicose veins, edema forms, white-finger disease), the brain-supplying vessels (narrowing of the carotid artery, stroke) and the abdominal vessels (e.g. aortic aneurysm, narrowing of the renal arteries or the intestinal vessels).
We offer modern, guideline-compliant, patient-oriented diagnostics and treatment of:
- Peripheral artery diseases / Peripheral circulatory disorders
- Abdominal aneurysm
- Diagnosis of visceral artery disease
- Thrombosis and thrombophlebitis
- Chronic vein insufficiency / Varicose
- Vasculitis
- Lymphatic vessels
Diagnostic Methods:
- Ultrasound of the extracranial vessels (carotid arteries)
- Ultrasound of the pelvic vessels and mesenteric vessels (venous, arterial)
- Ultrasound of the renal arteries
- Ultrasound of the aorta (abdominal artery)
- Duplex / Doppler sonographic examination of the arterial and venous vessels
- Compression sonography
- ABI measurement (ankle-brachial index)
